Apple Cannot tranfer music or videos to the new Ipod Touch

Recently I got an iPod touch and I cannot transfer any of my existing music or videos onto my iPod Touch. I can copy it with iTunes but when I attempt to open up videos or music it either closes instanlty or says there is nothing on it. I have tried serveral USB ports.

Also when I try to sync it it comes up with "iTunes could not back up the ipod because a session could not be started with the iPod"

I have not jailbroken it. It is on 4.1

Ok, its not so bad, I can redownload my PAID apps, the best answer, dont buy apple
