I have a wii firmware 3.4E and have installed HBC using Bannerbomb and have installed cIOS using NUS etc, i can now use usb loader gx and boot games via usb using my HDD

But some games have issues with usb loader and i would like to know how to play a backup of a game from disc.

I have tried neogamma via the HBC but it doesnt work.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

SSBB for one and far cry as well.

this post is not about usb loader, i want to know how to play backups on my wii

I have the backups already but they are not playing by inserting the disc, do i have to install anything else? e.g. twilight hack to play backups?

BannerBomb > Twilight Hack = No worries there.

What cIOS did you install? SSBB should have still loaded, but the videos are known to have issues with rev14. Not sure about Far Cry.

If you've installed cIOS and a backup loader, that should get you set.

Did you follow any guides doing this? Maybe the guide you used was outdated and you got an outdated loader or something that doesn't like whatever cIOS you have.

Take a look here and here for the newest guides to hack your Wii.

He said he's already tried NeoGamma. Nice try though. =)
Don't install cIOSCorp. It's more of a risk than it's worth.

aha twilight hack has nothing to do with anything!

it sounds like you have the essentials: a backup loader, a backup, and cios.

well the only thing i can think of is a bad burn.

    All he said was

I have tried neogamma via the HBC but it doesnt work.
    and
I have the backups already but they are not playing by inserting the disc, do i have to install anything else?

From that i gather he doesnt have a backup loader that he normally uses, he would have no reason to think putting a backup in wouldn't just work. What version of Neogamma did you try? Does it give an error or just not start up?

please don't say that "cioscorp3.3 is more risk than it's worth". it works very well on my wii. i could run all of my backups in the disc channel without using gecko or neogamma. but first make sure u have preloader and cios38rev14...and most specially backup ur NAND with bootmii before installation...

It's a big unknown field of modding to completely change all your system IOS files for one novelty of seeing a game banner before clicking a button. Especially now, there's a dozen alternatives that don't make such drastic changes.
