Can you rip off Wii games like they do GBA,NDS.
No, not yet unless you have access to a special program like the release groups do.
The two ways groups have been able to dump Wii ISOs are:
1) Modify firmware on a specific DVD drive so it can read the raw data.
2) use a special program to dump the ISO in sections from the Wii onto an SD card, then re-combine those sections on your PC.
But at this point there's no reason for you to try and do it yourself, since there's nothing you can do with the data right now except for saying "see what I can do!?" And for that you might as well find the Red Steel image and burn it.
I know about the first method, but I've never heard about the second one. Any additional information about this? Where do you run the "special program"?
I can't remember exactly, but I know it's a program you put on the SD card. When you plug it into the Wii you run it off the SD card, can't remember if it's a photo channel glitch or what...
Anyway, that program dumps the ISO in several steps depending on the size of the SD card (so at best a little less than 2 gigs at a time).
I think Red Steel (#001) was dumped this way. Read the NFO or topics related to that dump.
No, I can't.
