I have a hacked Slim and 6 Pro Duo Cards for it, 4 16 gig, 1 8 gig and 1 4 gig.

I can only fit 3 inside a little, resealable bag and put it into the UMD slot, but even then it takes some effort to fit it so i can close the UMD slot opening. Id like to fit the other 2 cards so i can take them with me all the time and ive literally never used the UMD slot on the system. Can i take apart the PSP, remove the UMD slot and still have everything work ok? Would really make it easy to hold as many cards as i like with me, and perhaps some spare batterys as well. Thanks.

I think you can remove the UMD drive, but don't expect to be carrying spare batteries around in it's place.

Just do what I did, get a case for it.

Most of them have a small pocket for storing umds/msproduos in. You'll probably be carrying the extra battery in your pocket, though.

I can see if you wanted to carry around a ton of music, movies, and a TON of games

that being said, yes you can remove the UMD drive

you have to pretty much unassemble the whole thing to get at it though

didnt someone make a fake UMD shaped piece of plastic that held memory sticks?
it was about 3-4 though

anyway I only have 1, a 4GB, I dont see a reason you need 4 16GB, a 8GB, and a 4GB with you at all times for...
what are you carrying the whole PSP game library with you or something?

I can help you with your problem, just throw one of those 16GB my way >:3

in a previous case i have already proven that the UMD memorystick holder doesn't fit in slim psp's.

At what point did i say that he should only buy one? Only those clasping at straws for objections would find themselves unable to multiply four by two to get a result greater than six. Who needs to carry six sticks around anyway?

Thanks for the help guys. I want to keep the PSP looking as normal as possible and i dont like carrying anything with me when i take the PSP, its big enough!!

As for why all the memory, i like having a wide selection of PSP games on hand, along with tons of PS1 games, and emulators (gotta have my neogeo on the go!). The rest of the memory is used for movies and tv shows, stuff like Heroes and Looney Tunes Golden Collection.

I know how you feel - I'm actually looking forward to the 32gb mem stick pro duo so I can load it full of every worthy game made for a major gaming console from 1987 to 1997, and then some.

On topic though, I don't know of a way to carry around mem sticks like that besides the empty UMD shell that was released a few years ago.
