You kinda answered it yourself: if it hypothetically was dangerous or destructive (and given the product is officially distributed in a large, trigger court happy country), you can bet there would have been a disclaimer somewhere (or that it would be blocked in software, and anyone suggesting workarounds be accused of DMCA violations)
