It depends on what a person wants to play, but for a lot of people, the Switch is a better long-term investment since it's still receiving new games, and the Wii U library is relatively poor.

I think the Wii U library is still stronger at this point than the Switch, in terms of exclusives that is. It's all opinion. :)

Leaving out the stuff a lot of people don't care about, imports, and titles that appear on both systems... I'm sure I've missed some, but I wouldn't call the Wii U library relatively poor in comparison whatsoever. I did also say at this point, and naturally Switch has more coming. As of now I think there's somewhere around 15-20 more pretty big titles announced already. 2020 imo is when the Switch will become greatly superior to the Wii U. It's just not there yet, for me.

Switch:
Kirby: Star Allies
Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle
Mario Tennis Aces
Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate
Pokemon Let’s Go, Pikachu / Let’s Go, Eevee
Splatoon 2
Super Mario Odyssey
Super Mario Party
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Xenoblade Chronicles 2
Yoshi’s Crafted World

Wii U:
Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water
Kirby and the Rainbow Curse
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD
Mario Party 10
Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash
Paper Mario: Color Splash
Pikmin 3
Splatoon
Starfox Zero
Starfox Guard
Super Mario 3D World
Super Mario Maker
Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE
The Wonderful 101
Xenoblade Chronicles X
Yoshi’s Woolly World

Like I said, it depends a lot on what a person wants to play. The Zelda titles alone make the Wii U worth it in my opinion. But, the Switch is a stronger long-term investment for most people, especially since it's what a lot of people are playing these days.

The WiiU is a great all-in-one Nintendo console. With a little effort it can play almost every generation of Nintendo's console games. I can't say much for original content, but the same can be said about the Switch.
