You can if you setup emunand to do all the hacking stuff on offline while on sysnand you can play online just fine. Its mainly newcomers who try to play online with pirated games or never heard of emunand that get banned.

yea but theres been talk of people getting banned simply for copying nand or setting up emunand.

In your dream.. Absolutely dream! NO.. No matter what... You are still going to be ban anyway. Nothing you can do about it. Nothing.. BAN, period. Seriously!
This is wrong on so many levels. Are you being paid by Nintendo to scare people away from hacking their Switch?
So I see most people use OFW to go online and emunand for mods etc. My question is has anyone tried to play online with emunand and original cartridges? I have a clean backup of my nand and was thinking about making emunand and only playing original cartridges online on it cause I would prefer to keep my OFW on 1.0.0.
I know there is always a chance of getting banned but will I get banned the moment I go online with emunand? :D
My youngest brother has a iPatched hacked Switch on 4.1.0 so the only option for online is to use a second emuNAND. In this case on a second SD card which is safer as that ensures there are 2 distinct setups with their own configuration files and such, so the legit SD doesn't have any of the stuff that could have higher ban risks such as some homebrew, and that all kinds of patches are disabled so there is less for Nintendo to potentially detect. Since any sysmodules or patches in the atmosphere folder will always be loaded, regardless of which emuNAND you are booting.
He hasn't been banned yet. That's no guarantee though.
People on ReSwitched also say that Atmosphere itself is undetectable, so essentially it's what you do with it that could lead to a ban. My thought is that the closer you keep it to completely stock, the lower the chances of getting banned. No custom system menu themes, no sysmodules, cheats, save editing, no homebrew that writes to NAND. Preferably no homebrew at all (you never know)
And obviously no nsps.

I think it's wiser to have both. As incognito and 90DNS are different approaches and one might cover something the other doesn't, or save you if one method goes bad (think of a configuration error in 90DNS etc)
Incognito is more stealthier than 90DNS and doesn't require wifi settings, most users including me think its better. Reason why is b/c your Switch serial key is removed from the nand{Emunand}. Without it you'll never connect to Nintendo even if you tried so having 90DNS with incognito is unnecessary and can affect your download speed in Tinfoil/HBG. Anyway either one is fine alone I used to use 90DNS way back before stealth mode was implemented on the sxos, it did its job keeping my Switch safe.
