I have a normal (not modded) USA wii with the 3.0 Update. Now that I am already at 3.0, am I still able to mod the wii with wiikey?

assuming you have the right DVD chipset, then yes you can mod a 3.0 Wii. D2A, D2B and something else (DMS?) are the ones that can be modded. D2C is the one you pray you don't have

I bought my Wii at the midnight release when it came out. Does that guarantee that I have the moddable DVD chipset? Or is there still a chance I might have the unmoddable chipset?

filozof, do you know any professionals that can install a mod chip in NYC area? I'm not having any luck with craigslist...

There are a few people in NY but they're going to charge you at least 100 to 120 bucks for the modding.
