I'm trying to unlock the save file bonuses for DQB2 for having a save from DQB on the console. However, I played that game on Vita and not Switch, so I have no save file. I went and downloaded a 100% save off the forums here and tried to manually insert it with Checkpoint, but it won't show in the list of restorable saves. Here is what I did:

The save is located in switch/Checkpoint/saves/0x010008900705C000 DRAGON QUEST BUILDERS/20180730-120419 NumberXer0
I copied the formatting from every single other save I have on there. 0x"titleid" "game name"/"save name" "username"

No luck though, it never shows. Is it impossible to add a save without having the game ran at least once through Checkpoint? It also won't show up in EdiZon either. Any ideas?

Thats unfortunate, thanks guys. I already played and beat the game on launch and I don't plan on buying the game a second time just to get a hat. I guess if anyone has the game and can give me the path, it would be much appreciated. Otherwise SOL then haha.

The path is irrelevant. You cannot restore a save file if you've never played the game before.

You can install the NSP file if you don't want to pay for the game.

Maybe the flag in the dqb2 files that you have the save of the first game is only one byte and would be easy to modify by hexediting... But the esiest way would be googling and installing... Would take less then half an hour

Thanks guys, I'll give it a shot. I was trying to avoid having to do that, but it seems like it won't work otherwise.
