Hacking Can you dump the header of a Japanese cart on a US console?

I own a Japanese New 3DS XL. I also have a Sky 3ds and a gateway card. I want to get a private header for some Japanese roms. If I buy a USA 2DS (version 9.2 or under) can I dump the header using the gateway program? So there are two questions:

1. can you dump roms on a 2DS?
2. can you dump Japanese 3DS ROMS on a USA console? I own some Japanese retail cartridges. If not, can you use a USA private header on a Japanese ROM and will it work?

I would assume "yes" for both, but someone else should clarify

Yes for both indeed. I've dumped my own cartridges on a 2DS. You should be fine with foreign games too.

So the gateway program will ignore the region lock when dumping? I want to make sure before I go and buy a 2ds.

As it's simply dumping the contents of the cart, it doesn't care one way or the other. You can also use any private header with pretty much any game, regardless of region.
