    please tell me i can..
i remember being able to do it back when i had a g6lite, but i can't find any options on the EDGE that will allow me to do this.

Yes, you can, using either a 3in1 card or wifi:
    Rudolph's Archives
I have used NDS Backup Tool 3in1 v0.31 (2008/1/29) to backup, restore and dump retail carts.
if you do not have a 3in1, either get one for about $20 or else use the wifi proggie

NDS_Backup_Tool_Wifi_031f is nice, get it in the downloads section.

I used a tutorial (maybe this one) when i first tried it.

It worked GREAT to backup over 100 cartridges (it's just terribly slow for the roms, sav files are tiny and fast though), i didnt try restoring anything, but can find no mention of anyone having bad experiences doing so.

P.S. i used Filezilla FTP server as it was already being used on my machine. (Also look at tinyapps.org, for other small free FTP servers)
