And the first video in the article shows you exactly what the camera shows you ;) (at minute 1). Anyway its just a simple IR Camera if you ever saw night vision it looks like that

Nice, the first useful post in this thread. All of the answers didn't understand the question or couldn't answer it (but made an answer nontheless).
One minigame of 1-2-switch used the camera for the first time, so it's avaible since release.

Jeez I thought it wouldn't be worse than 3ds...

Well at least gives you night vision lol but with that small LEDs I'm sure it won't see further than a few meters at night.
