I have an idea for a game and want to get started as soon as I can. I've decided to use Unity because
a) it's free until you start serious development
b) it's widely used and relatively easy.
I'm looking for a guide to help start me in the right direction. Some things I'm looking for are,
- Easy to follow guide that covers 2D games especially
- "Homework" with each lesson. A challenge to do on your own with no help.
- preferably free. Willing to pay though
I'll add more if I can think of any. Thanks in advance!

A good way to go is to look at the youtube videos that walk you through creating a simple game. You can find links on the official unity website. The "roll ball" game is a good place to start. They also have some for 2d.

AFTER you make one of those tutorial games, then you can look into taking some coding courses + unity courses. It wouldn't be the worst idea to take both at the same time if you can. Using one to help you with the other. Just look for "unity 2017", as older versions may not apply so well and you'll want to learn on the latest platform.
