Because you're corrupting the DS Profile stuff but the vulnerabilities used by the exploit were patched.
I'm pretty sure this would probably work regardless of system version.

That's weird.. I wonder if that guy could have tried that on an o3ds, have put gateway's launcher file and could have chosen decrypted 9.X rop it could have worked..
