Hacking Can R4 and M3 Perfect both work in same DS?

I have an M3 Perfect (miniSD) and want to get an R4, I am wondering if they will interfere with each other when I upgrade each individual's firmware.

Nope not at all. In fact the R4 DS will boot the M3 Perfect right from within its main menu so you don't have to remove the R4 first!
