Yeah, Aureinand does that by default, so youre good with that CFW.
There is Cakes as well, where you can change that behavior manually, but it's only recommended for advanced users and for testing purposes.
Yeah I just went with aureinand because it seemed less complicated and honestly I don't do much on my 3DS. But now I can at least play original DS games using the TWL patch.

It's a lot cheaper just to fix the MB (if it's just nand corruption) without chucking it. They wouldn't be in the business of selling $60 2ds's otherwise.
I would guess they have a stock of spare parts so that they can simply replace what is faulty, return the fixed console and repair the faulty hardware later on putting it in the spare parts bin or selling it as refurbished. This way is faster for the end user.

There was a case once, where a user sent his 3DS to repair at Nintendo, they returned his console with a misterious cartdrige inserted, so he went back to the Nintendo Customer Service and returned the misterious cartdrige... and yup, he never saw what it was.

In exchange, he received a HUGE reward, so it's obvious that such cartdrige, in the wrong hands, can do much everything we can dream about I guess.
This story has yet to be confirmed and most (including myself) believe it to be a hoax.
As for the topic, the only way Nintendo could remove/block A9LH, is new hardware. This is a hardware exploit and works on the same level of BootMii. As well CFW's like AuReiNAND and CakeFW have protection for Firm 0/1 from being patched.
In other words (according to the Nerds,) it's impossible to patch this out with any update, beyond flashing the original NAND (pre-A9LH) or using new hardware.

This really makes me happy that I took the time to do it. When I first saw it I thought it was N3DS only and then I found out it did work on o3DS but you had to downgrade to 2.1 to get it but after researching it I was like f it and went for it the other night been totally worth it so far with the fast booting and the protections it offers me.

Yeah, prove of that is that I can't find any source or any record of that case in any site, it was posted here if my memory is right.

Well, then , the only reason for Nintendo to push an update is to block svchax for now, but I'm sure there are another exploits floating around of devs hands, just being maintained safe until something big comes again, and Nintendo, seems to be having a hard time patching this one.

But! I would like to always say, don't jump onto the update trains as soon as they are posted. Make sure they are tested and the nerds are right. As of right now, 10.4/10.5/10.6/10.7 have all been running on the 10.4 FIRM. So there's been no official testing for any update past the 10.4 FIRM, so right now the protection is still in theory and it's wiser to wait until someone with a hardmod has tested it first.

Yeah I usually wait until smea give the go ahead or others have tested it on the forums so. I always hope Nintendo will actually update the 3DS to kill off the friend codes and use the Nintendo Account/NNID fully even if it just has both as options to add people and the NNID just keeps track of the FC for us.

Not likely to happen unless they can find a way to confirm your an adult and dont need to protect you from stranger danger

It was my understanding that the Nintendo Account was going to fully replace the NNID and Friend Codes on the new Nintendo devices so that we can have a more XBL/PSN like online experience.
