i would like to know becuase my gbab sp battery sucks and i don't want to blow myself up and i own uk versions of the consoles

There was a guy in a FB group someday that used an cellphone battery instead, with a piece of eraser to hold it in place , said that worked even better than actuall GBAsp battery
If you wanna try it, just check the polarity , the voltage and amperage of the new battery if matches the GBAsp one

Nope, as sup3rgh0st said it won't even fit, and they are completely different batteries. If you look near the charging port you can see they use different voltages. I think you can use a battery from the original 2004 DS in a GBA SP though, not sure.
