Hacking Can I play the whole Tales of Symphonia GC game with the new Gameckube

Like, can I finish playing the first disc and continue with the second? Or this game is like Metal Gear GC and the second disc can't be played with the Backup Launcher?

If you have the choice to save at the end of the second disk so you can just load the save from disk two yes otherwise you are sol.

So does anybody know if you have the choice to save at the end of the FIRST disk? I know that's what you mean to say...why would it matter if you had the choice to save at the end of the SECOND disk? Anybody know the answer to this?

No, there's no save option at the end of disc one. You need to swap disc's and that's why you can't finish it (yet) on a softmodded Wii.
