Gaming Can I pirate Skyrim to not run it with Steam?

Ok so I don't think this is illegal, but I want to make sure. I bought Skyrim from Steam and Steam is being a little sh*t about it. If I try to launch SKSE it won't launch and Steam has to be open. Can I just pirate the game so I don't have to worry about Steam? I already bought the game and ALL dlc so this isn't illegal, is it?

Just look for a crack in the internet. (Not going to post one or anything so )

No, you don't put the files anywhere. You would install the cracked version like a normal games (In your documents for instance). Run it like a normal game

How could it be illegal? Making backups of games you already own isn't illegal so I don't see how this is...

it's illegal you are not a museum and not protected by archive laws.

I've had a cracked copy forever. I keep it around in case I need the patched Steam .DLLs or .EXE just in case I lose connection and Steam won't let me play offline (happened before). As for which files you need to replace, it depends on the crack. Mine obviously uses the aforementioned .DLLs and the game .EXE in the game's root directory.

One thing you can do is extract the needed cracked files from the installer by opening it with 7zip. Or install the game on a different profile on your PC (or else it'll fuck with your current install) and then take the files from that, then delete the profile.
