Hacking Can I install cias directly from the flash carts sd card?

I have a new 3ds XL and I am using a brand new R4i Gold 3DS Plus (latest version).
I have installed CFW and good to go.
I know i can install CIA games from the sd card that is IN the 3ds XL, but what about the sdcard that I put in the flash cart? I would like to avoid having to open up the back of the 3ds XL every time, and I know I can use freeshop, wifi transfers, etc. But why not be able to just install off of the sdcard thats I have in the flash cart?

Thank! One other quick question: So once i set the switch to ds mode it can only be used to play *.3ds game files? No other use for it once the 3ds xl has CFW installed?

You mean ds games right?
R4i Gold 3DS Plus can't be used to play or install 3ds games AFAIK, the 3ds mode is only used for ntrboot.
