If you want to back up 9.9, you can still do that, but I'm not sure there's much point in doing so. Are you hoping for a kernel exploit on Ninjhax 2.0?

Alright. I wanted to do it myself because my parents do not feel comfortable shipping my 3DS to someone I don't know

I see. Well, he does a professional job and he has modded many 3DSes, it's safer than modding it yourself He's not just some random guy on some forum.
Especially since it's a small 3DS, those are harder to mod. I don't have the links to the solder point images on hand, but they're on the forum somewhere. Maybe someone else can point you to them.
