Ok, so listen, let me explain the terminology here for you because most people here already assume that you know this stuff.
"Free games" is what people are referring to as backups. People who convert their own cartridge games into .xci files. These files are the "free games" that you can load on your switch.
All you need to do is to get the os and run it on your switch. It's explained on how to do it on "sx.xecuter.com". Once you get the OS up and running, you can then download the games which are in .xci format and put them in your sdcard. After that you can play the "free games".
In order to get the os to work on your switch, you'll need these things:
A USB C cable
A jig, or a paper clip
Your switch
