Hacking can I buy DLC for .cia games

Say I dump my cartridge to a cia and install that, can I then buy DLC for that game? Would I run into any issues? (now or later after maybe removing/reinstalling the game?)

I tried looking it up but all the hits are about people trying to use .CIA dlc with their games.

As far as I know, bought DLC will have to be deleted to use pirated DLC, but I could be wrong.

if you buy legit DLC and then try to pirate DLC's every time you open the eshop, the DLC's(the pirate ones) will disappear, and you'll have to buy them again.
So, if you want to go through the legal way, it will have to be all the way.
If you want to go the pirate way, it will have to be all the way too

you know i have heard this many times but have both paid and pirate dlc for smash and use the eshop without any problems . . .

hi, can I download for 3DS legit CIA game (Mario@Luigi: Dream Team, but the legit CIA itself is USA region !!!) an update from eshop (Ver. 1.1 EUR update)?
My game icon on emunand homescreen says: i have to update the game. Press Y or eshop. I did both ways. I pressed Y, downloaded the update. Icon still says: need an update.
Then I opened eshop, searched for the update, and then I installed it. Game icon still says: need an update.
If I go to settings -> add ons, there is MArio& Luigi DT update (a small block size). Question: is this ok this way? Will my US game recognize my EUR update from eshop?
I think the game itself has the update, but my game icon is outdated.

Edit: I have searched for USA update as CIA file, but I could not find any.
There is an 1.1 update EUR CIA available, but my game was installed as US.
Or should I remove the game, then install it as EU region then install the EU update?
I use Luma, so region versions should not be a problem.

no, you'll need an eur game to install eur updates and vice versa for usa.
the game won't recognize the eur update and you'll need to install the usa update manually.

I have never ever bought DLC in the Eshop, yet my installed cia DLC for Mii Plaza gets removed when I enter the Eshop.. So I don't know what's causing it, it's just worth mentioning

Yeah i get that but compared to nintendo point of view, since this was not intended to be manually dumping and backing up games as installable cia unless paid for by the eshop, then their opinion is not the same as ours. If i walked into nintendo HQ and did that, they would probably aresst me under piracy pretenses.
