Hacking Can AKAIO read Japanese filenames?

I don't like having my backups in romaji form, will I run into any issues playing them in AKAIO if I rename to kanji?

I don't believe you'll run into any problems.
ロードランナー (LodeRunner) works perfectly fine as "ロードランナー.nds" and unmodified shows "ロードランナー// HUDSON" for the header.

I have Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan (?????????) on my Acekard, with the Japanese characters, and it works fine

I used to play Pokemon Black without the English Patch and it worked just fine
