I have just started learning C++ and I have to say 1 thing about it:

    WOW!

It is very interesting to say the very least. I just finished a lesson on variables and constants and have created a simple DOS calculator program. It's a good thing I don't have ADD or ADHD. lol.

I have started learning it because I have great game ideas but no one seems to want to help me make them (DS, Wii, and PC). Plus, I think it would just be good to know and use just to better understand certain things.

Who else here knows/is learning C++? How long did it take for you to get to the point of being able to write programs and games? Did you learn it at school or did you self teach yourself?

Went over c++ in a few weeks in uni. We were pretty much writing programs day one. Once you know one language it is really easy to pick up another.

Why would you like to know?
Awesome! I just started a class at college learning C++ too! And I agree with you about how awesome it is, and I can't wait to learn more about C++! [IMG]

I actually am learning Java, and C++ and Java seem very similar. I think.

    It's...interesting?

    k.

It's an (admittedly) efficient language with an outdated syntax that fosters bugs.
