Hey guys I'm planning to buy a wii soon, and I need advice on whether it's better to softmod or hardmod, considering the game playability. Thanks

it will only ruin the warranty if you do certain things with your softmod [IMG]

Well, best combination would be softmod with a solderless mod chip... as new Wiis can only install BootMii as IOS when you get bricked by doing some stuff you shouldnt, chances of recovering are small without a chip.

You mean, forget chips, chances of recovering are small with a chip? Preloader's brick protection is 10 times bigger than anything you get with a modchip. (and BootMii boot2 is 10 times better than preloader)

Of course everyone's advice will depend of what they have on their wii. What a stupid thread [IMG]

    Not really,

I have personally only softmod on my Wii.

Despite the fact I have BootMii on boot2 and preloader installed, I saw many users which had softmod but no bootmii and no preloader(heck knows why ?!?!) BUT a modchip and this was saving their a$$e$ when they were bricked...

Of course a common sense of mind and the use of preloader and bootmii(even as IOS) will make the need of a chip equally zero.

    I use both.
