Hacking Buying the red new 3ds xl!!

The new 3ds xl is available in some store but only in red color.

Is it because most have newest firmware? is it ok to buy them?

Any idea when Nintendo will ship again to USA? I am looking to buy 2 but I think I read somewhere
that most red ones comes with 9.4, so I am hesitant to get them.

the red xl version is the most risky one, they're repots of it being loaded with either 9.0 or 9.4

If your able to look at the box you can cross-reference with this list

if not then your best bet is buy it, open the box REALLY carefully then start it up and see what firmware its on. If it's on the wrong one do a system format and then put everything back the way it was and return it saying it was a "gift" and "X Person" wanted the black one and really hates red.


edit: Lol just noticed you were talking about online.....that's always risky. If they have it in a store then that's the best bet. Returns are more of a hassle for online as well

If you're talking about Walmart.com, they sent me two 9.4 Reds. I would assume all of their inventory comes from the same batch, though this isn't necessarily true

I guess I'm one of few people who vastly prefers the red over the grey

I pref the red too, its actually one of the reasons I made the firmware thread so I could find out what red systems were safe to get

i was going to get a black originally but at last minute changed my mind to blue.......after seeing the "metallic black" im glad, its more "concrete grey".....any color would be better than that

they're so many clones of r4, which card are you referring to?

I need to find stores that sell them in Usa. hmm

Wow that hori one looks good but its not available for me now. I found some cheap ones
from china but that will take too long and also they cover all the insides too.

Go to your local ToysRus or Walmart check the SN,DO NOT wait the 2nd shipment at the end of this month-early March
i'm sure it gonna be 9.4 or over... even the first shipment( Red )there were (9.0,9.2,9.4).
Even though i'm not sure why we need those FW if GW didn't release any update
