    As topic states.
Wich one is best to buy if I have plans to flash it?
A Super Elite with 250 gb hdd and FFXIII or simply a Slim?

I was thinking that maybe the fat one was more vulnerable to hacking or something? That´s the only reason.

I believe you can flash a XBOX 360 Slim's DVD Drives, so really there's no difference. I'd go with the Elite based on the extras it comes with.

    except its not death

it just means they system has turned the gpu/cpu chip off to prevent damage to the system
and will remain on until it has cooled down

Go for the slim. The main draw is RRoD protection; it also has many little extras like a quieter fan, built-in wireless (possibly 802.11n, not sure) a few additional USB ports (still limited to 4 controllers, extra ones are for USB flash drives), and out of the box Kinect support (fat 360s need an adapter, IIRC)

Hm. Did some research on what you said, and that's a pretty innovative solutions to the original RRoD problem. Is the video below that same problem?
    Warning: Spoilers inside!

the old 360 had that feature too
only problem was the temperature sensor was only on the cpu and ignored the gpu
if the cpu would heat up enough 2 red blinking lights would appear, the cpu and gpu has shut off

the 360 slim uses a single combined chip for both cpu and gpu and its a lot smaller die size so it shouldnt happen anymore

Since my question is somewhat related to this topic, is it easy to flash the 360 slim? I've flashed my phat 360 before but it's dead now and I'm thinking of getting the slim.

Thanks and sorry siliconmessiah if I hijacked your topic [IMG]

How frequent is the RROD on jasper boards? Also, does Microsoft still fix RROD on discontinued models?
