Well, I know there's about... 20 topics regarding this, but I'll be brief.

I'm buying a DSI in a few paychecks, mostly due to Nintendo's eventual "ULTRA-DSI-ONLY" game bullcrap. I want my DQVI and DQIX to WORK when they come out, kthx.

I'm considering buying the Supercard DSIOne or whatever it is. (( From GamebyGame, it's where I got my CycloDS. ))

Is there another card, that is compatible with the new DSI's firmware? The only reason I'm even considering a Supercard is 'cause of it's USB Cardwriter. I want a card that can evolve with the life of the... well, card.

I've read that some cards require hardware changes just 'cause of the new firmware, which sounds really shitty. :|

Anyway, that's it. Clear, concise, with no internetspeak.

    Thoughts?

Do you have another DSL/DS ? if yes, you can always consider ak2i!
otherwise, m3i0 is another option [IMG]
m3i0 also comes with an external USB device!

quite a few carts are - I've listed them below by my own personal preference.

    M3i Zero
    Supercard DS ONEi
    Acekard2i
    EzFlash Vi
    R4i (some of the clones)

Your choices are m3i, supercard, acekard 2i or the exflash vi. The first two use usbs to update, while the ak and ezvi need a working ds/dsi. My personal favourite is the ak, but make sure you'll be able to update it.

M3i Zero is the way to go if the above is true. Otherwise, M3i or AK2i.
Never try to get an r4 clone, unless you don't like being impressed or something.
SCDSOnei isn't nearly as good as M3i Zero. EZ is worse than SC.

Thanks for the quick replies guys.

As per your input, and 40 minutes of Googling, I will get a m3i.

What about the actual SD card? I'm using a Kingston 4g, and it's kinda slow. Won't play Portrait of Ruin. :|

    EDIT.

Yes, but I plan on trading in my DSL twoards the DSI.

#1 A DSi is great if you love Clocks.

#2 What makes you so sure that DSi Flashcarts can run DSi-only games when they come out?

    Think about it...

The DSi Flashcart works on Both DS and DSi, it isn't a DSi-only cart. How are you so sure that DSi-only games won't use a different hardware/memory for the carts? If they do, then all DSi Compatible carts may not be able to use DSi-only games and may require a whole new breed of new flashcarts that use different hardware.

#3 If you care so much about Dragon Quest 9, think a little bit. Why would Square, a company who publically said they wouldn't make a Chrono Trigger 2 unless Chronner Trigger 1 sells better, make DQ9 a DSi Only game for Americans when there are only 7 million DSi owners and 100 million DS owners? Not to mention the Japanese version is for DS with no DSi enhanced features :/

If you were a developer, would you make a game for DSi only, or a game that can be played on the the DS, DSLite, and DSi units that have been sold over the course of half a decade? I think for the next year the only DSi-games that will be released are the cheaply made games no one cares about like Imagine: Stereotypical Female Job

There is no such thing as DSi-only games, it's just an urban legend. There might be hybrid games in the future that offer some extras if stuck in the DSi console.

    lol

"this original game has players use the DSi Camera to capture monsters, then face them off in battle. "

... so you take a picture of a hideous person and then fight them in the game? Give me a DSi NOW. [IMG]

I'm reviving my old thread 'cause I don't wanna make a new one. [IMG]

This is gonna be a reality. I have my cards limited to 2 choices.

SuperCard DS One (i), or the Acekard 2i.

Which one? I am -not- buying a bad one. [IMG]

I'd get another CycloDS, but I don't think it works with the DSi.

If it helps, I plan to use cheats.

hey yea, sounds like the acekard2i is the way I'm going to go. quick question though

Any suggestion on the best sight to order it from? There are lots of distributors, but I don't have money. And I've heard of people getting fake carts from places.

I would try RealHotStuff, it's not exactly cheap, but the shipping is fast. A lot of places are having to remove their Acekard 2i's for some reason...
