Gaming Buying a Datel Battery Tool for my PSP is useless?

I bought a new PSP Slim and am ready to mod. I read the guides many times however I do not hace access to a PHAT PSP nor do I trust myself with opening up a PSP battery. I read online I can buy a Datel Battery Tool for my PSP SLim so that means I dont have to open up a battery and try to remove the leg. I was just about to order it when I read another post on this forum saying that the actual battery is useless without having a Phat PSP. I dont see whats wrong with it? Can anyone help?

No, you don't need a fat psp. You just need to find a magic memory stick. You could make one yourself, but the files are illegal, so I can't give you a link. Google is your friend.

yes you can mod ur psp using a magic memory stick and a datel "TOOL" battery, the person that said you couldn't obliviously didn't know about them

There are 2 ways to make a Pandora Battery:

Pandora: You can make one by using a hacked Phat PSP or you can hardmod the battery and cut a pin. That'll also turn it into a Pandora Battery

But you can make a Magic Memory Stick with your PC so basically, you don't need a phat psp to install CFW on your PSP. I installed on mine

Yes, Phat batteries DO work on Slim. But the battery cover won't fit. You need a battery cover for Phat. Butif you're gonna use it just for Pandora, you won't need a cover anyway becasue it really fits secure into the battery slot.

I will further attest that the Datel Tool Battery will work just fine with the no-PSPPhat guide on a PSP Slim.

you shouldn't bump 2 year old topics, and you should provide more info.

current firmware says nothing about if you can get cfw.
you need to know your PSP version(1000, 2000 or 3000), and boxcode(letter on the box your psp came in) or original firmware version.
