Burnout Paradise Remastered PC version releases on August 21

While Burnout Paradise's remastered edition launched earlier this March for consoles, a PC version was announced with no given release frame. Now, Criterion Games has let fans know that they'll be able to get their hands on the Windows version of the game in less than a week, on August 21st. If you're part of EA's Origin Access or Premier tiers, you can play the game early. For those that already own the decade-old game, you'll be able to get it for a 75% off discount. This remastered version of the game offers much higher resolution textures than the original, as well as 4K support.

If you already own it on Steam, and not Origin, you can right click the game in your Steam Library to view your CD key, and redeem it through Origin, where you'll be able to buy Burnout Paradise Remastered for only $5.

Burnout paradise remastered? :D

... Origin only

Meh... I'll pass The game was great but I don't do origin. Just 'all dlc and improved visuals' isn't enough to make me reconsider

Honnestly, I've never been a car/moto games fan
If racing games aren't your thing this is an obvious pass for you, but as somewhat mentioned by @vitaltype, this game is on an opposite side of what you could call "car porn". You know the kind : where they go for ultra realism, want to make their cars feel as realistic as possible and add about ten layers of polish on each car
Burnout paradise is all but that. Cars are basically wrecks waiting to happen. They're sturdy, menacing and belong more in a mad max movie than on an asphalt road. Driving others off the road isn't just easier than in other racers: its part of the game. Catching back up isn't that hard and crashes are shown in a spectacular way. So races are more sort of duels than an attempt to finish first. So in the end, this is like an incarnation of how you'd play cars as a kid ("bam, I hit you! Your car somersaults two times and smashes into that tree!" "oh yeah? Well I get back and hit you from behind making your car spin out of control, going wheeeeeemBLAM!").

Don't use Wine.
Any better ideas to get origin working on linux?

Sorry if it sounds pedantic, but really: people don't use wine to use wine. They use it to get windows-only software running on their platform. If they have to jump through hoops to get it done, they're more inclined to not use it in the first place.

If you want to use Windows software, use Windows.
