my hp laptop has a optiarc dvd rw ad-7581s 4h03 sata

it claims it can burn duo layer.

i was out late last night at walmart and saw memorix dvds. all other stores were closed and i was desperate to try my new flashed xbox.

following the guide on gbatemp burning 360 games, i'm getting up to 50% then error.

will this happen when i buy vertabrim dvds? or is my dvd burner incapable of burning 360 games?

You sure you bought Dual Layer DVD's?

Have to patched every backup with ABGX?

make sure your burner is on the latest firmware, it says it can support up to 4x so don't try much higher speeds even if it's an option.
use imgburn other programs aren't as reliable, use the .dvd fiile not juse the iso, and if all else fails get some verbatims.

If you still get errors then get an external DVD (one of the DVD's compatible with the Payload tool) or get a external DVD case and get an IHAS burner.

the verbatim dvds worked. I had put my computer in safe mode while burning to use less buffer

    I forgot
I've had issues with Memorex DVD DLs as well, always get to 50% when the burn fails. Some just don't seem to like 360 games I guess?

    Neat that it worked.

Yeh, Verbatim is one of the best brands of DVD's out there.
I never had problems on any of the consoles that accept burned discs.
