Hardware Broken Transistor

The left leg of the transistor below R12 snapped off when I was about to solder in a new ribbon cable adapter. My soldering iron is broken too and im not sure what my next step is

I think your next step should be to buy a adjustable soldering iron. I don't know how you did it, desoldering two legs, but it isn't right.

No it snapped off before I had chance to try soldering. But the iron was broken anyway so I need to get one regardless. I didn't desolder two legs, one popped off. So I'm not sure if just putting solder down there will fix it or not.

Well, you could give it a try. But be careful you don't short the two legs.
