I wonder if you get a discount if you already own the original remaster on steam? Dont expect a free upgrade, but a 40-50% discount would be nice. Broken Sword II was brilliant also btw.

Oh man, I remember occasionally playing this on my big bro's PC many, many years ago, but always getting stuck 'cus that's how point and click games be, lol.
Might check it out, tho, they really could've used some other word aside... "reforged".
Just 'cus, y'know... the one other game with that uses that word too was basically hated by the entire world, eh.

This game is good, but "Unavowed" is better.

Broken Sword is one of the grandfathers of modern point and click games. If it wasnt for Broken Sword, Monkey Island series, Sam and Max, Gabriel Knight etc. Unavowed wouldnt even exist. It might be a fun game in the genre, but it doesnt come close to the importance of SoTT

Got this on the Wii as a gift, played for maybe 20 hours but never finished it. Honestly felt like shovelware to me.
Shovelware! How dare you sir!

But seriously, i don't think I've ever came across anyone with that opinion before. I assume you're not a huge fan of point 'n' click? This is usually considered to be one of the best.

Setting the genre doesn't mean it's better. Look at the first StarWar, it didn't aged well - now it just looks silly.

Your entitled to your opinion but i guarantee more people would agree with me on this than you. ive played both and BS1 is still the far superior game. I admit some of it is nostaglia from playing it back in 1997 on my playstation, but it is a genuinely great point and click game.

You admit it's nostalgia, and you 'guarantee' more people agree with you? So people will agree with you that nostalgia clouded your judgement? People often think that a game or a movie is better back then than now, until they went back to play them again, then realized they didn't aged well.

Not a grammar police - but it is "You are" or "You're", not "Your".

So KTR is asking, will you guys spring for the Snapdragon,
or should we get some older cheaper chipset.

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
They probably thought to themselves that the latter would be the better option. Not only to make them easily affordable to produce and buy, but to retain the same performance to competitors.

After all, SoC is the same ones used in Android phones that were made for gaming.

Gen2 is obsolete and probably can get bulk for cheap

In the same way that a Raspberry Pi costs 30 dollars but a project involving a RPi costs at least $100, CPUs are cheap, everything else is a bitch.

3d printing and repurposed screens got cheap so we get neat little devices out of last year's tech it's still a neat way to recycle

It went from involving nerds with degrees to buying little Jim's after school project

Yeah I think I spent like close to 300 all in on my Pi5 setup buuutttt depending on how you look at it that is super cheap, like per game or all the "Mini" consoles you would have to buy to get something close to it.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I just divided 5000 by 300 works out to 16.666666 cents per game lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
Yeah but some of those games aren't worth that much. I hope the others make up for it. :P
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
If you own no other devices and can find something that does up to switch for 300 the price makes up for it just for that then again a complete genesis can go for around 150 not including games
  • Veho @ Veho:
The Switch is the next big milestone.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Yeah when Adreno 780m is more common on devices imo
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
    Or 680 iirc
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's interesting, you can get up to PSX with a $50 device, but if you want PS2/GC and so on, it's $150 minimum but $200 to be sure, and those devices can already play Switch.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Still better than 350 on a actual switch I'll take a few frame drops
  • Veho @ Veho:
I'm not disagreeing. It's just weird that if you can get PSX for $50, and Switch for $200, why can't you get PS2 for $100?
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Emulation is weird.
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean just take the fact SNES still isn't perfectly emulated.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Ram chips are probably like $20 per 8gb?
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Dunno.
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Is RAM the bottleneck?
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
So the cost of molding screen battery and all that jazz iirc more ram helps shaders load properly which ps2 had like 32mb of ram so it's all over
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
But with Emulation some say 16gb is required
