Hardware Broke Lid of ZIF Coonector When Replacing Circle Pad

Hi. So my circle pad does not return to center and I've bought a replacement. This is the first time I attempt to replace a part. When I lifted the lid of the ZIF connector for the circle pad cable, the lid flew off (circled in the photo below).

Can some one advice is this type of lid re-attachable or now I need to buy a replacement motherboard?
