For starters, you might want to change your forum name.

If you broke the lever-type clip that clamps the ribbon cable down then you made a big boo-boo.

You'll have to do some pretty neat magic with some electrical tape or hot glue to keep that ribbon cable held in place when you put your Wii back together!

Iv'e done the same exact thing taking apart phones. Usually the clip will pop right back into place unless you snapped it. [IMG]

aint nothing you can do apart from rigging it back up. be thankful your screwup was only clips and not cords. be more careful next time or have someone who knows what they are doing do it for you.

I suggest soldering it... no no wait I was joking.
you can do some fast hack with tape, and search your store for some equivalent piece so that you can replace it.

what happened is the entire clip on the board is broken, the left and right as well as the peice that is on the ribbon.... all i can do now is slide it in and try to line the lines up...

ive done it twice, and the wii reads the disc on the dashboard but once i try to play the game i get an error...

im really freaking out... anyone know what i can do?

    is this the data cable?

Ha. Sorry, i'm not laughing at you, just your situation =p

I'd be naughty if I did this... if theres no tamper proof stickers for taking the Wii apart (you know the VOID IF REMOVED stickers), I'd delete all my wii data, make it look like a new system (system restore), then return it, act special and say it was brokened. That's just me though.

well, i tried taping it in about 10 times, and every time i got an error after it read the disc. Well I just got it in good, and it loaded the game etc and its playing fine..

I was just gonna buy another one and swap the dead one out, but this works now [IMG]

thanks for everyones help, sorry for freaking out [IMG]

You can usually wedge a piece of thin plastic or paper in to make it stay.
