Somone told me its possible to replace the chip with the Wii's OS stored on it to fix a brick?

Its like, HARDCORE bricked so no, bootmii will not fix it.

if you got yourself a boot1 vunerable wii and a extra nand chip preflashed with bootmii..i'd say, it can be done...

but if as you said.. a system menu or OS from any wii won't just run on specific wii. so no way fixing it with just os

    An entire NAND chip?

I remember ch0p doing some experiments on NAND chip swapping, but AFAIK, it was the same chip cloned.

You should at least have the bricked Wii's keys before even trying something like that.

If you have a working nand-chip with working content in a brocken wii
chances are that only the drive in broken
try your original drive in the new wii
if that doesnt help try the new main board in your wii

should all be easier and less risky then re-soldering chips
Id try that as a last resort since failure is likely fatal to both
