    Hello everyone that can help,

I have a modded japanese wii, which was one of the first gen, is bricked. When the wii boots up, it doesn't load anything (maybe black screen of death). I can hear the wii disc spining but doesn't load up anything. When I tried the savemiifii, I gotten the recovery screen (3.1 jap fw) then I put in tasongui (can't spell it) vs capcom, the 3.1 disappears and nothing loads up.

I don't know what else to do or if there is new methods of unbricking wiis. I researched and researched and kept on finding the same old methods and nothing seems to work. What else can I do next? Please help

Through the savemiifrii, I was able to update the firmware to 3.1 jpn to 3.4 jpn but I still have the black screen of death. I am guessing it is the bluetooth module or wifi that broke but it is there any tutorials on how to replace the module?

if the bluetooth or wifi module is broken, you won't be seeing the recovery menu in the first place

What happened to make this brick? Please provide info on what may have been done to cause the brick. If you did nothing and have no homebrew it's probably your D2CKey.

Then I would change the title of this thread from Bricked Wii to Broke Wii... This has nothing to really do with a brick and could be anything including one of the chips worked loose with the impact.

Actually, we should change from bricked-broken-working wii. I bought a new bluetooth module and put it in and viola, it works now. I was also able to change the region from jpn to usa and upgraded to 4.1. The only werid thing is that now that I changed the region, the wii doesnt boot up japanese games, only usa. I can assume that the d2ckey region config was for japan.
