The easiest way to use texture hacks is to use the Gecko OS code that loads the textures off a SD card.

Yes, as long as you use something like Gecko OS to load it with active codes. You can also use SSBB on USB loader, just use one that can enable Ocarina, and use the file replacement and no custom stage codes, and you'll be set. I can confirm both ways (retail disc AND usb loading) work on 4.0U.

The only thing I wish worked, was the ability to load character selection portraits off the SD card, I can't seem to get it to work, even tho I have the textures in SD:\private\wii\app\RSBE\info\portrite and they still don't show up in-game, so I'm blindly selecting character colors and hoping the right texture loads.
