Gaming Bravely Second DLC/Member's Area - anyone did it? (GW)

hi, i made a square enix id and try to log in, but i get a square enix error message and code.
it says authentication error (in japanese, naturally)

did anyone have any luck?

Could it be 'region locked' to Japanese IP addresses?
Have you tried connecting through a proxy?

first it was my chip ip, i was certain it was fine, but i tried all the manufacturers again, macronix worked for me.
i was using my square enix username but that kept not working for me, then i used the email address and i got further.
then i had many connection problems, but eventually it just worked.

things are very rarely locked by ip (thankfully)

i played about 4 and a half hours until i got to chapter one, so i can finally get some more dlc downloaded
