Boy, 9, suspended for reportedly calling teacher 'cute'

A 9-year-old boy was suspended from school for two days for sexual harassment last week after he called his teacher "cute," his mother says.

Chiquita Lockett of Gastonia, N.C., told WSOC-TV of Charlotte, N.C., which first reported the story, that her 9-year-old son, Emanyea, shouldn't have been sent home from Brookside Elementary School.

"It's not like he went up to the woman and tried to grab her or touch her in a sexual way," Lockett told WSOC. "So why would he be suspended for two days?"

The Gaston County school district said it couldn't discuss the incident beyond confirming that Emanyea was suspended for "inappropriate behavior" after making "inappropriate statements."

after being on the bad end of a couple of 11 year olds talking like they know whats to know about sex, I can believe that inappropriate can cover quite a lot of stuff. Listening to them talk and then watching the 7-9 years olds soaking in every word... oy... yes the elevator was filled with "inappropriate" and yes I made especially sure to be the annoying guy that sticks his nose in others business and I told their parents about the inappropriate conversation they were having and had to actually tell the one parent what two of the terms actually meant. (shaking head).


Yes this should have been reported yes I believe the school took the appropriate action... and I do think that anybody who disagrees should really start paying attention to the things that happen around them.

But on the other hand, It all depends on the whole story we never hear or read about, we don't know what things he said before, neither do we know how cute she really was
