Homebrew Bowsers Inside Story Randomly Locks up playing via Twilight Menu++

I was able to play through the whole game fine until i unlocked the dark bowser battle. But then when i went back to the main world to collect missed items and to level up and stuff the game seems to lock up controls wise in random places. I have seen it mostly happening when mario and luigi are doing stuff outside of bowser. I am on the latest version of twilight menu++ and a am using a cheat via twilight menu++'s cheat menu that seems to be making the game pretty functional in most areas all battles work etc. I am wondering what the fix is to this. BTW this never happened until I unlocked dark bowser.

dont know where to get the patch where do i get it
