Ok first of, i have just updated my Wiikey'd Wii from 3.2E to 4.0E using the guide by assassda here on this forum. I have seen a few post on here about BootMii, and im still not 100% sure on:

1. What BootMii completely does?
2. What it adds over progs like, Preloader, Starpatch & Starfall?
3. Is BootMii better than Preloader
4. Can you, or is there, any reason to use BootMii and Preloader etc together?
5. Is it safe to use BootMii at this point in time?, heard something about boot2 problem and Nintendo patching this?
6. Is it completely stealth, will i even notice its installed?
7. Do i really need to install it if i am using Preloader?

If someone could answer these question, hopefully it will help me out and other who are in the same boat!

1. What BootMii completely does? THAT
2. What it adds over progs like, Preloader, Starpatch & Starfall? Nothing
3. Is BootMii better than Preloader? For Brick-Protection, yes
4. Can you, or is there, any reason to use BootMii and Preloader etc together? Yes and Yes (Sys Hacks, Autoboot, Better Protection)
5. Is it safe to use BootMii at this point in time?, heard something about boot2 problem and Nintendo patching this? Yes, safe
6. Is it completely stealth, will i even notice its installed? If you delete the BootMii folder on your SD, you won't recognize it
7. Do i really need to install it if i am using Preloader? Better Brick Protection?

If someone could answer these question, hopefully it will help me out and other who are in the same boat!

Cheers, thanks for the info.

One final question, is it safe for me to use the BootMii installer (http://bootmii.org/install/) without doing anything else on the Wii, if i have copied assassda online 4.0 update guide to the T?, i dont need to install or downgrade any ISO's or anything?

brick protection isn't bootmii's main purose
it will offer developers a totally new environment to make applications for. that is the difference with preloader.

i've installed without problems bootmii on a 4.0E as boot2, and it works like a charm
the best thing about having it on boot2 is that you can always boot up your console even if you f**k up the NAND.
the most interesting thing i've found in bootmii is the nand dump and restore capability wich works flowlessly as a safety net if you brick your console.

So the boot2 method has the best protection but is slightly more risky to install, where as the ISO method is safer, but the protection isnt as solid as it cant be undone via a Nintendo FW update?? Other than that both methods are the same?

Can the boot2 method be installed through the HomeBrew Channel? is it just a case of making a BootMii folder in the 'Apps' folder on the SD card and adding the 'installer_beta1.elf' file in the bootmii folder an run from the HomeBrew Channel, do i need to remane the elf file at all??

To install it from hbc, you'll need to rename it to boot.elf
The installation as cios isn't fully bricksafe. Because it needs a way to boot into that cios. And with a completely bricked system, that's impossible.
