Hello, I am trying to get Boot2v3. Someone with it dumped their nand for me, and I read somewhere that I need the get the first 7 blocks from the dump. I have done that, but how do I extract the data from the blocks and make it a wad?

I know, but I read that if you get blocks 1-7 of a nand.bin, you get boot2.

Quote from Wiibrew: Boot Process: "(ARM) boot1 Lives in the first block of NAND; loads one of two copies of boot2 from blocks 1-7 of NAND and verifies it using RSA / SHA1."

Also from the page you mentioned: "Blocks 1-7 (Pages 0x40 - 0x1ff) : boot2 (two copies and blockmaps)"

I'm not restoring or dumping, I'm just trying to extract boot2v3 from this nand dump someone sent me.

I've been trying to make a database of EVERY system title there is, and one of the ones I'm missing is Boot2v3. I want it for completion.

Just use dd command to skip first block and copy only 7 blocks.
Then open it under hexedit and search for data duplication.

It actually contains boot2 twice, something like sector 1+2 and sector 6+7. If you have BootMii boot2, then the 1st is BootMii boot2, and the 2nd is unmodified boot2.

PS: I think the hackmii installer gives you some info on that when installing BootMii boot2.

Yes, but how do I make a wad from the blocks?

Ok, I just got blocks 6-7 from it.

And my Wii can't install BootMii to Boot2.

So, can any professionals help me?
