Hacking boot linux from usb hdd in bootmii?

I am interested in running wii-linux and would like to know how to set it up to boot from a usb hdd from bootmii as boot2 not from ios. Is there someway to hex edit the mike kernel to boot off usb instead of sd?
If anyone could help, that would be great, as i really do not want to be stuck using sd cards for linux.

It's not possible. Wii Linux can communicate with hard drives in any case so I don't see why you would want to boot it off a USB instead.
