Hey all, anyone heard of this before? I went to put a new *ahem* homebrew rom on my card (2gig), and when I put it back in the DS, it had corrupted, when I looked at the card in Explorer, a few folders were just full of garbage. I Reformated the card, but seem to have lost a whole gig! Any idea how I can get this back, and / or, the most appropriate way to make someone suffer for wasting my only day off in 2 months.

thank you!

ah f*ck it! I can't find anything! I'm just gonna throw it and get another, all the format software seems to crash when it looks at it. God sometimes I hate technology.

Sounds like you were using the reader that came with the R4. I think that killed my 1gb kingston taiwan. I just claimed on the guarantee and got a new one.

Same thing just happened to me, there were a bunch of random files and I couldn't change anything with the card, I reformatted it and it worked fine, though

I think you should use a partition manager. Just delete the whole partition. You can make an entirely new one and format it correctly.

They come with, for example, Linux distros.

No USB adapter should get hot. It is definatly busted if that happens.
A little warmth is normal, but not much more above when it is not in use.

Anyway, I suggest you get a new reader. Or, try buying your card from trusted sources, such as Newegg or Tiger Direct.
