Hacking Blinking orange light after turning off wii u while in rednand.

No this is normal as the rednand is going into sleep mode when you switch it off not the actual wiiu and the wiiu gets confused or something when you switch it back on.

if you hold the power button for 4 seconds, it should stop blinking and turn red....then you can turn it on normally...

I know this is an old post, but since it's at the top of the list on a search for this issue:

To stop this from happening, just turn off the power-saver features in your redNAND's system menu.
I turned off Burn In Reduction and the Power Settings/Standby Functions and no more blinking light!

You only need to disable standby. Burn in protection is a graphical thing only, and you may as well leave that one turned on, since image persistence even on LCD panels is an annoying pain in the ass.
