    A couple months back I bougha black light neon. It looks preety cool, but it doesnt show saliva, and cat pee( my cat peed in the garage and it didnt show up. So, do these globes work, I was thinking of going to jaycar today and getting one,Blacklight Globe

    I can't speak for saliva and cat pee.. and... well, I just don't wanna know..
    anyway, here's what I had in my room when I had a black light, and it worked reeeeeeeel well.

    Get a fluorescent black light if you can find one, those bulb types get hot as hell.
    I mean like, burn your finger tips off kinda hot.
    Plus the fluorescents spread the light out better.

    lol mthrnite. blacklight globes are cool, but they do get so hot.

    Can you trick Boktai sensor with this one ? I know you can with the fluorescent one.

    wat do u mean,spread the light better mthrnite. could u draw up a quick explanation in paint. its an extra 10 bucks for a fluorescent one.

    Well, the '70s are long ago and far away, but as I remember it, having both a bulb and a fluorescent, the latter was a lot brighter.
    I'll assume it had something to do with the larger surface area, or maybe that fluorescents run cooler so they could safely up the wattage, but I'm talkin' outta my butt here.
    I don't know if they make 'em like this anymore:

    Mine was about 15 inches long or so, and had a reflector under the bulb on the base.
    I guess now that they've got fluorescent "bulbs", one like mine might be harder to find though.
    I'm too lazy to google it right now, sorry.
    Suffice to say, I was a lot happier with the flourescent, and it lasted a lot longer too.
    Just my two cents.
    ..and I'm still not gonna ask about the spit & pee. [​IMG]
