Old school SNES style RPG, sort of reminds me of Chrono Trigger. Nice to see a RPG from the West, makes a nice change. I hope it turns out well as I'm kinda sick of SRPG or RPG's with animé styles. This was actually planned for the GBA in 2006 under the title Project Exile.

No release date as of yet but I think the game was completed last year but they have only just got a publisher for it.

    More screens and videos here.

It looks to be typical fantasy but I am certainly curious. Thanks for the heads up.

    Edit: nice looking font.

Yeah, this game has been around for a while now. Is it finally getting released? [IMG] Either way, it doesn't look all that appealing, since it's really just a GBA game with a map on the DS' top screen. But to each his own.

Reminds me of the old arcade games I used to play. I'll play it when it comes out.

Dude this is so retro. I love it. The graphics kind look like Legend of Mana 1.
But if it has Seiken Densetsu 3 gameplay.

You do know that its gameplay that counts right?

I like the retro graphics, that's the developers intentions.

My only problem is that the font doesn't fit inside the frames, giving the feeling it was put together with RPGMaker...

Looks heavily inspired by my favourite RPG, Final Fantasy VI - story, graphics, presentation all appear similar in that video.

I can't wait to play it - I've been waiting for a more traditional J-RPG on the DS, and this might just be the answer.

Yeah, looks very retro. And it hardly uses the DS at all.
But, tbh, who even cares? It's a new classic RPG, a lot like Crono Trigger or FF, with over 30 hours of gameplay (apparently). Gonna be awesome.

Its not by a Japanese company so no, its from a Canadian developer which is why I'm more interested in it than most RPG's plus the fact that I'm sick of anime style sprites now.
