anyone with black DS lite, did you guys notice that the touch screen is actually darker than the top screen eventhough it is on the brightest setup. I didn't notice the difference in white DS lite. Is that normal?

Yes, everybody did notice it.
However it does not happen with every DSL.
It's known as yellow-smoke touch screen. On some unit it's more noticeable. I think some user a few month ago got even a unit replaced because of this( and a faulty d-pad I believe).
Anyway there have been other posts reguarding this issue.

Actually here's something funny:

I have a white DSL and a black DSL.
The whiter DSL has a slightly darker top screen, and the black DSL has a slighty darker touch screen .
See my point ? I could actually open them up, switch the 2 top or bottom screens around and I will have to DSLs with almost OK screens.
But is it worth it ? The yellowish tone of the bottom screen it's hardly noticeable unless you play something like brain age, with a constant white screen in front of you all the time.
I guess I can live with it. I tried to open one of my DSs and it looks quite complicated to remove the screen.
I'll just leave it like that.

Try calling Nintendo about it. They might do a repair for you. I called them about my cracked hinge (yea, I got stuck with that problem, as did my girlfriend), and they fixed it for free. It took about 2 weeks total, but considering the entire deal was free, it's worth the wait.

It can't hurt to try, you've nothing to lose by just calling and checking.

Im on my 6th dslite 2 white 4 black.

First white one was perfect until someone scratched the touch screen so I did a bad flash and took it back saying it wasn't
working... worst thing I could have done

1st White, Perfect, got a replacement badly scratched touch screen.
2nd White, Yellowish bottom screen
3rd Black, Yellowish bottom screen
4th Black, Yellowish bottom screen and a few nice dead pixels on the top one.
5th Black, Worse fault of the all imo, slanted bottom screen which is so annoying you can't help but notice it.
6th Black, Yellowish Bottom Screen, which is also going back.

I'm not giving up until I get a perfect DS Lite again, I know that there's are a few out there and I'm determined to get one.

My first DS had a horribly tinted screen. I changed it. And after reading Tanas post, i have realized that both my screens are not centered. both are slanted in different directions.

So if I take my yellow screen dsl back to Gamestop will they exchange it? I really want a black one, or at least a new unscratched white one.

I have the warranty btw.
